“The Coletrain Transformation Station is built on the heart and passion of our community leaders and CTS Team. Our purpose is founded on the organization’s principles of transformative equity, resiliency, healing, recovery, and advocacy. We help navigate disadvantaged, underserved, and underrepresented individuals towards their purpose and meaningful role in society. The foundation of our organization is rooted in our family oriented approach, as the organization was created by a small family, Kim Cole and Randall Cole. As a family led organization, The Coletrain Transformation Station continues to edify every person, family, and community through our organization’s culture. Our CTS team members are a reflection of the power of transformative change and second chances, as many of our CTS team members have lived-experience which reflects the struggles of the people we proudly serve. The Coletrain Transformation Station helps individuals to see the change they want to become and we help them to live out that change using a strength-based approach which not only provides services but instills hope, self-empowerment, and self-efficacy for long-term recovery and success. We believe that by transforming the lives of individuals we make communities healthier, safer, and more sustainable for the future.”
“In this journey called life, we often experience many stations in our lives. The Coletrain Transformation Station helps people travel towards recovery and success, by transforming their ideologies, actions, and lives.”
– CFO, Randall Cole

What sets our services apart?
Passion
Our counselors and leadership team are dedicated to helping communities as all of our staff have lived experience with homelessness, mental health, substance use, and experience with the criminal justice system. Our organization is built on the testimonies of those who identify and reflect the population we serve. Our organization’s culture has led to the success rates of our counselors who don’t focus on checking the boxes but always seeking ways to improve individuals health, safety, and overall wellbeing.
Transparency
Our organization focuses on ensuring services include cultural equity, diversity, and inclusion to prevent bias. We believe in treating every individual receving services with dignity and respect regardless of their past decisions. Our organization provides Client Experience Surveys (CES) to all participants (monthly) with questions that focus on participants experience with the service delivery to ensure quality and equity. Many contracted agencies provide services but rarely provide transparent service reviews for the vulnerable populations they serve. This can often lead to individuals experiencing oppression and bias services. CES is designed to help bridge services towards transparency.
Meeting Individuals Where They Are At
Our counselors and leadership team are dedicated to helping individuals with risk-assessments and outcome review tools to help individuals recover and become sufficient by “meeting individuals where they are at.” A boots to the ground approach that will provide services in their home, in jail, or in their cars. Our organization’s reputation is found in the testimonies of individuals, families, and communities that our services have impacted throughout Lake County and surrounding areas. Our organization’s family-oriented culture has led to the success rates of our participants because we do not focus on checking the boxes but consistently seek out ways to improve and expand services to improve health, safety, and overall wellbeing for every individual seeking support no matter who they are are where they are at in life.
“The way you counseled the meetings really made me think of my actions…since class, I have not drunk and drove. I have recently kicked the habit of drinking all together a few months ago. I want you to know that it’s people like yourself who really touch other peoples lives, and though it may not seem it makes a huge difference, it did in my life.” – Michael C.
